Turbines

The kinetic energy of the water flowing through each water turbine is converted into electrical energy by a generator connected to the turbine.

Water turbines are generally divided into two groups: reaction turbines and impulse turbines.

The most widely used turbine types are Kaplan, Francis and Pelton. Other less common models include the crossflow turbines Tyson and Ossberger.
